Northeast Truck Driving Jobs FAQ

Are there any costs to apply?

Submitting an application is free of charge.

Once I submit an application, where is it sent?

Once we receive your application, we will review it and pass it on to truck driving companies throughout the Northeast that are looking to hire individuals with your level of skills and experience.

How long does it take after I fill out an application to hear from trucking companies?

If interested, most companies should contact you within 24 to 48 hours after receiving your application. Do keep in mind, however, that response times vary between different companies and may take longer than two days.

I have no experience as a truck driver, but am interested in learning more. Can I still apply?

Yes! If you have no previous experience but would like to pursue a career in truck driving, we can help match you with the best truck driving schools and training facilities in the Northeast and throughout the rest of the country. Simply fill out an application and you will be well on your way to starting a new and exciting driving career.

I am currently a company truck driver but would like to pursue a career as an owner operator. How can you help me?

Many of the truck driving companies we work with provide lease programs which allow drivers to become independent owner operators and essentially self-employed. Fill out the application and we will put you in touch with top trucking companies that offer such programs.

Do you accept applicants with felony or DUI convictions?

Yes we do, but it is important that you disclose any past convictions on your application so we can match you correctly with companies willing to consider individuals with past convictions for hire. Choosing not to disclose any such information is useless anyways considering all companies will perform a background check prior to hiring any individual.

I am not sure what kind of trucking company I want to work for. What kind of things should I be looking for in a potential employer?

This largely depends on what kind of things you personally would like in a job. Most new truckers are concerned with wages and the amount of time they will be on the road and away from their families. When looking for a new truck driving job, other things to consider are the employee benefits the company offers, the kind of equipment they provide drivers (and what shape it is in), and what kind of jobs are available (such as long-haul versus short-haul).

How will the weather of the Northeast impact my driving time? Will snow affect my pay?

Safety is of the utmost importance of trucking companies throughout the industry. Since most truck drivers are paid by the mile, you may need to adjust your schedule accordingly to accommodate the weather (such as sleeping when you were planning on driving and driving when you were planning on sleeping). If by chance weather impacts your ability to safely operate your truck, it is highly recommended that you pull over and continue when the conditions have improved.
